Lifelong Learning in Wales
The CWU has again been successful in gaining WULF funding. The project will run from 1st April 2007 until 31st March 2009. The name of the project is 'Chwarae Teg' - 'Fair Play'.
This funding will assist us in continuing the process of embedding a learning structure within the internal structures of the CWU, increasing accessibility to learning opportunbites for members', particularly those with caring responsibilities and those who work in geographically isolated areas, in establishing a sustainable and lasting netwrork of CWU Learning Centres and ULRs to provide a legacy of opportunities for those members' with the greatest need. We believe this will assist in adressing the skills gaps evident in both the workplace and in society in general, and in implementing innovative methods of engaging learners in line with the objectives of the national CWU lifelong learning strategic plan, but tailored to the situation in Wales.
We aim to continue the vital work of the Welsh Project by improving members' everyday skills, breaking down barriers and widening participation in, and access to, learning opportunities, and embedding a sustainable learning culture within the CWU in Wales.
